Meursault aus Neuseeland? Kumeu River Chardonnay

(NM) Das Leben als Wein-Enthusiast ist ein verrücktes. Die globale Weinwelt offeriert ein Überfluss an interessanten Rebsorten und deren Weine. Welche Rebsorte oder Region gerade intensiv probiert wird, entscheidet nicht selten einfach der Zufall. Und genau dieser brachte mich nach einer großartigen Meursault-Probe (Bericht folgt!) zurück zum Chardonnay. Da mein Weingedächtnis anscheinend noch ganz ordentlich funktioniert, erinnerte ich mich an einen gewissen Hendrik Thoma, welcher in einer seiner frühen „Wein am Limit“ Folgen auf das Neuseeländische Weingut Kumeu aufmerksam machte. Und wie es der Teufel so will, sind die Weine des Weingutes Kumeu nun auch in Deutschland über Vinexus verfügbar. Somit war die Mission klar: Kann Neuseeland Chardonnay ähnlich dem aus Meursault sein? Zwei Flaschen wurden besorgt, und los ging der Cross-Kontinentale Chardonnay Vergleich.

(NM) We switch to English again. I’m very proud today to have another Master of Wine answering our 13 questions at „Nachgefragt @ drunkenmonday“. It’s no other than the English wine writer Tim Atkin! Tim recently generated buzz in the German wine scene by organizing a world wide Pinot Noir blind tasting/battle with selected German participants – with one very impressive result: the German Pinots rivals nearly all of them! I’m an award-winning wine writer and Master of Wine with 25 years’ experience.
